RENTAL FAQs

  • How can I try a rental item beforehand? 
  • What rental time frames do you offer? 
        • We offer rentals for 3 day, 7 day, 14 day and 28 day periods.
  • How complex is the process to start renting medical equipment?
        • We recommend using our website for setting up your rental at Medical Equipment Rental 
        • Online, you can select your medical equipment and  follow the prompts to complete your rental agreement. Delivery/pickup will be scheduled within the next 24 business hours.
  • What happens at the end of the rental period?
        • Per the rental agreement, all rentals will renew at the rate of 28 days at the expiration of the original rental term.
  • Can I change the time frame of my Rental?
        • Our Rentals are not prorated to shorter rental periods.  
        • If you wish to extend your rental agreement, please call one of our stores to learn about your options. Since longer term rentals are more cost effective, there will be a $10 charge which covers our insurance certificates that need to be re-issued as a result of extending the rental

  • Are your rentals available by the day?
        • The minimal rental term is 3-day rentals,but you can bring it back anytime before the end of the rental period. Sorry, no prorations.

Deposits for Medical Equipment Rentals

  • Do I need to pay a deposit to rent medical equipment?
        • All rental agreements require a credit card for deposit. The credit card will not be charged, however it is required to remain on file for the duration of the rental term. Deposits are equal to the retail price of the product as indicated on the Rental Terms & Conditions.

Delivery of Medical Equipment Rentals

  • Do you deliver rental products? How much does delivery cost?
        • Delivery services are limited to eastern Palm Beach County(Jupiter to Boca Raton).
        • Most delivery services are scheduled within a couple of days depending on the schedule. There is a flat fee of $35.00 for a scheduled delivery. 
        • Need it faster? Immediate Dispatch Delivery (IDD) is available to qualifying orders during normal business hours. This same day delivery option is a flat fee of $100.00.

Purchasing Medical Equipment

  • If interested, can I convert my rental into a purchase?
        • Renters have the option to convert monies paid in rental towards the purchase of a similar piece of medical equipment. 50% of the collected rental fees for the previous 90 days can be used as a credit towards the purchase of the equipment.

Service & Maintenance of Rental Medical Equipment

  • Is there any maintenance available with rental medical equipment?
        • Renters are responsible for maintaining the rental equipment in the condition received. Atlantic Healthcare products will provide any maintenance required in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.
  • What is the condition of the rental medical equipment?
        • Rental equipment has been previously rented. However all rental products are serviced and cleaned with virucide cleaners in accordance with the manufacturer guidelines and our Accreditation Standards. Our customers safety and satisfaction is our number one priority.  

Insurance Coverage for Medical Equipment Rental

  • Does health insurance cover rental medical equipment?
        • We can’t guarantee that the item your renting can be reimbursed by your insurance. However we can give you a duplicate receipt for you to send to your insurance as an unassigned claim for you to be reimbursed for the rental fees.  We can even file the claim to any insurance carrier on your behalf for an additional fee*(*no fee for Medicare patients)
  • Do you accept medicare for rentals?
        • Only select items are available for rental through Medicare. All Medicare rentals require proper documentation and authorization.  Obtaining the proper documentation can take time, that's why we offer a private rental option so that you can get the equipment you need while waiting for authorization. Please see our Medicare Resource for more information.

Hospital Bed Rentals

  • Can I rent a hospital bed online?
        • Yes, You can rent a hospital bed online! It's easy. Just visit our store and to Rent a Hospital Bed /All Rentals will require to following items:
          • Rental Agreement acknowledgment at checkout
          • Credit Card imprint for Deposit at item delivery or pickup
          • Drivers License Image.

          • 3 days = $115
          • 7 days=$125
          • 14 days= $140
          • 28 Days= $180
        • A One Time Fee applies to this item for delivery and pickup.
  • Can I arrange delivery of a rental full electric hospital bed?
        • We have two delivery options for hospital bed rentals.The standard option is a scheduled and pickup. The cost is $35 within our delivery zones However if you need your rental immediately we can provide an Immediate Dispatch Delivery for a Rental Hospital Bed. The Immediate  Dispatch Delivery of your rental medical equipment is $100.
  • Does insurance cover a rental Hospital bed?
        • Medicare has a process to get Medicare coverage for a hospital bed. This process can be lengthy so a private rental may be necessary to get the equipment you need before getting the paperwork required for Medicare.  Medicare will not reimburse for a private rental of a hospital bed without pre-dispensal medical documentation.If you need a hospital bed immediately, it is best to rent a hospital bed privately while we help you pursue the necessary documentation to get a hospital bed through Medicare.It’s important to note, however, that Atlantic Healthcare Products only has full electric hospital bed rentals and Medicare will not cover the full cost of renting a full electric beds. You can pay the difference out-of-pocket between a semi-electric bed and a fully electric one.For more information on the medical documentation requirements for getting a hospital bed through Medicare visit our DME Billing page.
  • Is the rental full-electric hospital bed the same kind of bed used in Hospitals?
